Professor Spourt watched excitedly as the girl swallowed the leaves. Her immediate reaction was normal, but the way she was moving about was very odd. Normally student would start shaking, there would be kicking and lots of screaming involved but never this.
"Oh, dear." She managed to choke out before she was covered in the girls breakfast and stomach acid. She stood there silently for a minute gathering her thoughts.
After the first time eating the leaves your body quickly learns to spit it right back out, the girl must have have this before. It was the only explanation. Maybe she should have asked the students if they had tried it before.....
"Of course you can go to your seat dear. Um, have you consumed Alihotsy leaves before?" She waved her wand about, cleaning up the girl bile from the plant, table, and herself.

Lowell remained quiet in the back of the room as he watched the events slowly unfold before him. He knew that this was going to be a long class period when he saw the entrance of Addison, his fellow housemate. Much of the class noticed the boy's spectacular display as he hurried to avoid tardiness. Lowell couldn't blame him, really, as he was deathly afraid of showing up late or, forbid, missing a class. That definitely wouldn't do for getting off on the right foot.
The gaunt boy watched silently as Professor Spout introduced the Alihotsy plant. Of course, this plant was unfamiliar to him, but he maintained rapt attention as it was offered that the plant induced hysteria. Just as he was conjuring such images in his mind, the Professor announced that she sought a volunteer to display the effects of the plant.
Lowell sunk a bit in his chair, seeming to want to fall through the wall at his back. He was nervous enough as it was...but if he volunteered, he considered, he might just make friends. He would show the other students what he was made of, and...
As Lowell went back and forth about volunteering, Professor Spout had selected a participant. Lowell ran a hand through his dusty brown hair and exhales softly, relieved that the dilemma was resolved for him.
The boy leaned forward in his desk, his wand clutched tightly in his hand as if it would fly away at the soonest opportunity. Silent fascination dominated the boy as he watched Ash's display. He cringed as the end result of the girl's sampling brought about a mess.
Well, Addison should feel a little better now.

Aurelia's eyes caught upon another Hufflepuff boy that she had failed to notice previously and surveyed him briefly before looking back at Professor Sprout at the front of the class. It seemed that the teacher had not expected quite an extravagant display by Ash to the Alihotsy leaves, and was clearly shown on her face.
The professor can't be doing her job properly if she was asking now, after the girl had consumed the plant, if she had had some before. Surely that was the kind of question she should have asked beforehand and Aurelia was even more glad that it had not been her consuming the Alihotsy. If it was anyone other than a Gryffindor, she would have considered writing a letter to her father explaining about the poor quality of teaching at the school, but alas it was Ash and Aurelia enjoyed every second of the girl's trauma.
Aurelia's eyes were drawn to the girl's last meal that now resided upon the plant, teacher and surrounding area and her face contorted in disgust, a look that transferred up to Ash as she made her way back to her seat.
